Sierra Club teams with TinRoof on month-long experiential engagement with their brand.

In an ongoing relationship with the Sierra Club, Georgia Chapter, TinRoof Marketing & Design was asked by Colleen Kiernan, Chapter Director, to promote the John Muir Outings in April. JMO, as it is known, is a month-long series of outdoor activities centered around each of the issues the Sierra Club is tackling for that year.

This year we wanted to make the events more experiential so we added subject experts to shed light on the issue at hand and bring it to life. Today supporters want marketing campaigns that arouse the senses, touch their hearts, and stimulate their minds. They want a holistic experience that is relevant to what they care about. At TinRoof our goal is to align your cause with their hearts.

We promoted the events via social media, owned media online and owned media offline.

The Sierra Club is a widely recognized and respected organization whose engaged and diverse members work actively to build relationships, influence leaders and lead our citizens to protect our environment and to create a safer, more livable community throughout the state of Georgia. Here are just a few of the accomplishments that Georgia Chapter members have helped bring about:

  • Addition of acreage to the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area

  • Protection of Okefenokee Swamp and surrounding areas from titanium mining

  • Passage of the Coastal Marshlands Protection Act and the Georgia Environmental Protection Act

Today, there are over 10,000 Georgia Chapter members working to support the Sierra Club mission to “explore, enjoy and protect the planet.”

The Georgia Chapter has become the largest grassroots environmental organization operating statewide.
